I’m Anaïs, a French traveler who fell in love with travelling ten years ago.
Whether alone or with others, with my phone and camera always in hand, I’ve explored some of the most beautiful places in Europe and around the world — searching for that beauty we find both in human-made architecture and nature–made wonders. I’ve had the chance, during my studies, to live in France, Lithuania and Italy, and later in New Zealand and Germany — all within just four years – and took it as an occasion to share my stories, first to friends, and now to others.

Langenier.com was created as a tribute to the people in my life who didn’t have the same opportunity as I did — the freedom to truly live. It’s also a space to share my travels, experiences, and the moments that have shaped me into who I am today: a solo adventurer — bold, proud, and fearless.

I hope this blog becomes a genuine source of inspiration for your next adventures and a reminder that nothing is impossible.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHEN DID YOU START BLOGGING ?

I started writing online when I was 15, about 10 years ago, with a beauty blog—I was following the big trend of beauty YouTubers at the time. My blog was called Mademoisellelatinne – if you want to take a look, I think it’s still active ! – . I stopped at 18 to focus on my law degree, but I always had a little regret about leaving it behind. Years later, I started writing again, but this time about travel—and I have no intention of ever stopping. I feel like putting what on my mind into words is something that I will never get enough of. Telling stories, writing memories — it’s my way of capturing moments before they fade.

WHEN DID YOU START TRAVELLING ?

Thanks to my mother’s job, I was able to go abroad for summer camps from 13 years old. My first time was in Milan, Italy. Funny enough, I didn’t really like Italy back then—though now I’m obsessed with the country, its culture, and its language. After that, I had the opportunity to travel on summer camps every year, visiting Poland, Germany, Austria, Greece, Sweden, and Spain. Then, when I was at university and just after the first Covid lockdown in 2020, I decided to embark on my first solo trip — to Palermo, Italy. That experience completely changed the way I see the world and think about life. Since then, my travels & experiences haven’t stopped.

WHY CHOOSE TO SLOW TRAVEL ?

I wouldn’t say I’ve always been drawn to this philosophy. In my early twenties, I was trying to see everything in a very short amount of time. It was exhausting — physically and mentally. I was more focused on performance than presence, more on ticking places off a list than truly feeling the beauty of a place through small moments … Then I had the chance to live in the South part of New Zealand for over a year. Living there, spending afternoon walking by the lakes and weekends hiking nearby, I started to truly experience what slow travel means. My goal was no longer to see as much as possible, but to feel as much as possible. And that happens only when you’re fully present, when you choose one moment to focus over a hundred. So choose slow travel to truly feel your journey — not just to see it.

WHAT ARE SOME GOOD DESTINATIONS FOR A FIRST SOLO TRIP IN EUROPE ?

Well, it really depends on what you’re looking for. If you’re based in Europe, since so many countries are easy to reach, I’d recommend not going too far for your first solo trip — maybe just a long weekend or a week. It’s a great way to see how you enjoy the experience while staying relatively close to home, in case anything goes wrong. I wrote a full post about the best destinations to start solo travel in Europe to help you choose !

WHAT GEAR DO YOU USE TO CREATE TRAVEL CONTENT ?

I invested in a mirrorless camera back in 2022 — the Olympus OMD III — and it has never left my side since. It perfectly complements my iPhone. To get a different perspective and capture views from above, I use the DJI Mini 4 Pro drone. It’s super compact, which makes it easy to carry anywhere. When I’m blogging, I always keep a notebook with me to put into word my inspirations — and of course, my laptop when I travel. Finally, to add that personal and creative touch that defines my photography and videography style, I use Lightroom and Adobe Premiere Pro for editing.
